Run for Merritt: 5K for Hope, Strength & Healing
Join us for a special 5K fundraiser at Lowe’s Park at River’s Edge as we come together to support Merritt, a brave 2-year-old girl fighting childhood cancer. This event is about more than running a race—it’s about bringing our community together to offer hope, encouragement, and tangible support to a little girl and her family during an incredibly difficult journey.
Merritt was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer on August 14th. Her road to healing will be long and challenging, involving more than 60 weeks of weekly chemotherapy infusions and two rounds of radiation. Her first round of radiation begins in December and will include 33 treatments, with a second round planned for the summer of 2027.
At just two years old, Merritt has an enormous battle ahead of her. We want her family to know they are not alone. Every registration, every T-shirt purchased, and every step taken is an opportunity to surround Merritt and her family with love, encouragement, and support.
Whether you’re a competitive runner, a middle or high school cross-country athlete, a casual runner, or someone who simply wants to make a difference, we invite you to join us! Come run, walk, bring your team, and be part of something bigger than yourself. Together, we can turn our miles into a message of hope and remind Merritt that an entire community is cheering her on.
